In The Doghouse

(Dave Cop)

Verse 1

Well my friend Sid Squiddly and my brother Bazza-B were sipping in The Dog last night

There was Obi Wan Ka Tobi, Boris Guard-a-Leonardo getting down and the music was tight

We were rocking in our chairs shaking out our hair putting the world to right

When a man walked in and he gave a silly grin and he said, “I’m gonna take you boys to nirvana tonight”

Verse 2

I said, “I know your face” he said, “It’s just this place, it hasn’t changed in a hundred years”

And he told us his story all the power and the glory, how it all ended up in tears

And he drank a little wine and he said, “Is that the time? I’ve got to be on my way”

Then he walked up to the stand took the guitar in his hand and man you should’ve heard him play

Verse 3

When he’d done we said, “Don’t go! we’d like to thank you for the show, it was the best thing we’ve heard in years”

But when we looked around he was nowhere to be found somehow he’d just disappeared

But as we headed to the bar, we saw his old guitar covered in dust on the wall

And underneath it said, “In memory of Doghouse Red, he was the greatest guitar player of them all”

Chorus

In The Doghouse, in The Doghouse, in The Doghouse (x5)
